East Coast Vijayan Returns with an Onam Song After Two Decades

East Coast Vijayan, who entered the Malayalam music scene with a collection of non-film romantic songs that went on to become more popular than many movie songs, is approaching nearly three decades of creating a distinctive new musical culture in Kerala.

The romantic songs released by East Coast Audios, with lyrics by East Coast Vijayan, opened a new chapter in the Malayalam music market. Songs such as Ninakkayi, which became an expression of innocent and pure love; Aadyamayi, with its rare melodies of first experiences; Ormmakkayi, cherished as a heartfelt love song; Swantham, which evolved into a soulful expression of romance; Iniyennum, remembered for its tender emotions; Ennennum, embraced as an everlasting song of love; and Veendum, filled with sweet memories of romantic experiences, established East Coast Vijayan as a prominent presence in Malayalam music.

However, his musical journey was never limited to romantic songs. The East Coast banner expanded into a wide range of genres, including film songs, devotional music, Mappila songs, ghazals, theatre songs, folk songs, poetry and Onam songs. Each genre helped East Coast build a distinct and loyal audience.

As another Onam season arrives, East Coast Vijayan is back with a new Onam song to add a fresh musical flavour to the celebrations. Following the much-loved music video Onam as Childhood Memories, East Coast Vijayan has created a new Onam song titled “Onam Vibe 2026.”

East Coast Vijayan has written and directed the music video Onam Vibe 2026. His constant search for freshness and contemporary ideas is evident in the song. Blending the nostalgia of Onam with the energy of modern celebrations, the song has been created to appeal equally to Generation Z and older generations.

Actress Ammera, familiar to Malayalam audiences through Bheeshma Parvam, and actor Santhosh Keezhattoor appear in prominent roles. Continuing his tradition of giving opportunities to emerging talents, East Coast Vijayan has also introduced a new generation of artists through the project.

Social media personality Sreejith plays a key role, while young singers Suryanarayanan and Devananda make their debut under the East Coast banner. The music has been composed by Team East Coast.

Celebrating the spirit of Onam and the diversity of Kerala's traditional festivities, the music video features more than 200 junior artists, along with various traditional Onam games and Kerala art forms. The dance choreography is by Shanthi Master.
