Google CEO Sundar Pichai Celebrates ‘Amazing’ Quarter, Reassures Investors on Future Gemini AI Models

California: Google CEO Sundar Pichai has hailed Alphabet's second-quarter financial performance as "amazing," highlighting strong growth driven by the company's expanding artificial intelligence business. His remarks came during Alphabet's latest earnings call, even as investors continue to question the delay in the release of the much-anticipated Gemini 3.5 Pro AI model.

According to Alphabet's quarterly results, the company recorded 24% year-over-year revenue growth, while Google Cloud revenue surged by 82%, fueled by increasing demand for AI infrastructure, cloud services, and enterprise AI solutions.

Speaking about Google's AI progress, Pichai said the company's investments are transforming every aspect of its business.

"Our AI innovations are redefining what's possible across every part of our business," he said.

Google also revealed impressive usage figures for its AI ecosystem. The company stated that Gemini models now process over 22 billion API tokens every minute, while the Gemini app has reached 950 million monthly active users, reflecting growing global adoption.

Pichai also highlighted the company's cybersecurity advancements, noting that Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber delivers high-performance AI capabilities for enterprise security at a lower cost.

Gemini 3.5 Pro Delay Sparks Investor Concerns

Despite the strong financial results, investors remain concerned about the delayed launch of Gemini 3.5 Pro, which many expected to debut last month. The model is anticipated to compete directly with advanced AI systems from OpenAI and Anthropic, particularly in coding and reasoning capabilities.

Addressing the concerns, Pichai reassured investors that Google's next-generation AI roadmap remains on track. While avoiding a specific launch timeline for Gemini 3.5 Pro, he expressed confidence in the company's upcoming Gemini 4 models, saying users would be "pleased" with what is coming next.

AI Remains Google's Biggest Growth Driver

Google continues to position artificial intelligence at the center of its long-term strategy, with AI-powered Search, Cloud, enterprise tools, and security solutions contributing significantly to revenue growth. As competition in the AI industry intensifies, Alphabet believes its full-stack AI approach will continue delivering value to businesses, developers, and consumers worldwide.

With strong earnings and rapid AI adoption, Google is reinforcing its position as one of the global leaders in the race to build the next generation of artificial intelligence.
